World of Warcraft Film Will Be Released in Chinese on June 8

Do you want to watch World of Warcraft film? I believe all the World of Warcraft fans will say yes. According to the announcement we know that World of Warcraft (WoW) movie will be released in Chinese on June 8, two days earlier than its North American release on June 6. Checking more details in the following parts. By the way, you can’t miss gdpgold.com if you want to Buy WoW Gold.

Directed by Duncan Jones, the film stars Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster and Dominic Cooper — and also features Chinese heartthrob Daniel Wu who was in last year’s hit Go Away Mr Tumor. He'll act as a particular draw at Middle Kingdom turnstiles — local media reports a new poster for the film has him front and center.

Despite looking like another CGI monstrosity, more than its contemporaries, the trailers and marketing materials advertise a fairly competent high-concept movie, challenging mainstream audiences with the retro, high fantasy visual aesthetic of WoW. Only a full release will allow a proper judgement of its success, but until then, gamers are still wondering why it seems impossible to make a good movie based on a video game.

In China, the game's graphics are altered to soften the violent imagery. The government also required that the game be put on a timer so that people would not become addicted to playing. Still, half of the world's WoW players live in China, making it an ideal market for the movie. Another reason for the early release in China is the Dragon Boat Festival, which runs from June 9 to 11. According to China Daily, last year during Dragon Boat Festival the Chinese box office sales were up 42% from the previous year.

The timing of the release also coincides with the end of high school exams in China. Money is yet another factor, as Chinese company Dalian Wanda has a stake in the film. Earlier this year, the conglomerate acquired a majority share of Legendary Entertainment, a studio involved with making the WoW movie.
